Devon Historic Churches Trust (DHCT) Cycle Ride

I am a little late in publishing the date of the 2025 cycle ride. It is taking place and will be on Saturday 13th September this year.

For many years now, Team West Hill has supported the Cycle Ride, generously sponsored by so many people in the village, raising funds for St Michael’s Church and the Devon Historic Churches Trust. It also a wonderful way of appreciating the special parish churches in our locality, as you cycle through the beautiful Devon countryside. I haven’t been out practising on my bike yet, but there is still time to be ready for 13th September.
St Michael’s will be open on 13th September for any visiting cyclists who need to stop for a rest. We usually have just a few names of visitors recorded by the end of the day.
We never know how many people are going to take part, but if you need more information, would like to join Team West Hill or sponsor them, please get in touch with:

St Michael’s Church Project: NACRE

It is great news that the first stage of the construction and decoration works planned for the Narthex and the lighting in the Church and Narthex have now been completed and that the Narthex is in use again. As we return the bits and pieces from storage the room feels like ‘home’ again.
The IT system has been updated. A new TV monitor for visuals, having been kindly donated in place of the old projector and screen, gives a much clearer picture plus it’s user friendly. Together  with the improved acoustics this makes a great area for singing worship songs – as we found at our July Café Church – picture attached.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped with the Nacre project, whether with financial or practical help. We look forward now to the next phase of work to make St Michael’s more welcoming to all and more Eco Friendly.
Why not pop in and take a peek!                                                                      Pam Johns.

We have excess beans, teabags, baby milk and cat food.
Please don’t donate more of these for a good while.

Thanks, Chris
