St Michael’s Church Project: NACRE

Firstly, we’d like to express our gratitude to you all for your support with the St Michael’s Goes Green fundraising. Within a 6 week window we had to raise £10,000 to get a matching grant of £10,000 from the Diocese. Thanks to the hard work of a small committee and the wonderful support of the community we were able to achieve our target, enabling us to start the task of the Narthex and Church Refurbishment (NACRE).

Our first priority was to repair the Narthex roof. This is now complete and we have been fortunate to obtain a Quick-Wins grant from the Diocese funds to cover most of the cost. Now the holiday period is over and everyone is getting back to work, we look forward to starting work on the new lighting, insulation and double glazing in the Narthex.
