Service Descriptions
Holy Communion
This is the most structured of our services and includes administration of blessed bread and wine for those who are confirmed members of the Church of England or are baptized and communicant members of other Churches which subscribe to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, and are in good standing in their own Church.
Morning Worship (All ages welcome)
The format of this service varies, but will include prayer, hymns/songs, bible readings and teaching. The aim is to link Bible passages to our lives today. Children are very welcome and crafts are set up especially for them. The service is often lay-led with use of the large screen for videos and music.
Café Church
This informal service is held in the church hall (Narthex). The room is set out with tables, at which you can enjoy pastries and as much coffee as you want! The theme each month relates to everyday life. There’s the opportunity for discussion and reflection together with videos and music. For the children, crafts are prepared for them to enjoy.
Messy Church and Messy Momentum
Many people wrongly think that Messy Church derives its name from the fact that craft-making is a major part of the session, but the name refers to the ‘messy’ fringes of church life – where families want to be involved but don’t feel comfortable with traditional services. In this way, Messy Church is a fresh expression of church, a valid worshipping community and not merely a feeder into Sunday services.
The flexibility of the elements of Messy Church – food, fellowship and fun – makes it infinitely accessible.

Dependent upon school holidays, Messy Church is held on the 3rd Friday of the month (3.45 – 5.15pm) during termtime (except July & August). This meeting is aimed at the 3 to 12 years old age group but all are welcome. All children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We are currently part of a national pilot project called Messy Momentum, which is for the Year5+ age group. During the Messy Church meeting, this youth group is offered the opportunity for an informal chat about Bible verses and separate crafts.
When the children arrive, we serve a light tea – hot dogs, pizzas and fish finger sandwiches are the favourites! There’s tea and coffee for the adults. The session includes a short Bible story, music and lots of messy crafts! It’s a great fun way to end the week!

Simply Worship
Join Cag and Jane for an hour of guitar-led, contemporary worship around a theme and stitched together with scripture and some times of silence. All welcome.
